About the Online Courses
Earn Undergraduate Credit
SF State's College of Professional & Global Education offers a series of courses designed to help teachers master the challenges of today's classrooms. The topics covered fall into three main categories:
- Classroom Management
- Special Needs Students
- Violence and Harassment in Schools
These interactive online courses provide expert instruction and for your convenience, can be completed at a pace that fits your schedule (but must be completed within the term enrolled). You may take any of the classes. Please Note: Students will only be permitted to enroll in five courses during the spring and fall semesters and eight during the summer term.
The courses are set up much like books with chapters and exams, with an exam after each chapter that will be taken on your computer. All courses are now also tablet compatible.
VESi recommends that you check with your school district and/or state licensing agency to verify these course offerings will meet your district and/or state requirements for salary advancement and/or state certificate re-licensure.

Violence and Harassment in Schools (12 Units)
- Violence in Schools: Identification, Prevention and Intervention (2 units - $365)
- Traumatized Child: The Effects of Stress, Trauma and Violence on Student Learning (2 units - $365)
- Child Abuse: Working with Abused and Neglected Children (2 units - $365)
- Drug and Alcohol in Schools: Understanding Substance Use and Abuse (2 units - $365)

These courses do not count toward any credential programs at SF State.
